#IrishFoodParty was founded to help the Artisan Food Producers in Ireland market and promote their products.  With a passion for food and technology I saw a niche in the market for a unique food hour on Twitter.  After doing a lot of research I noticed that this was very popular in the Uk with hours such as #devonfoodhour and #dorsetfoodhour, very popular food hours which trended most weeks  I  felt Ireland was too small to run regional twitter food hours so I decided to setup #IrishFoodParty which covers the whole country.  Since we launched in April our twitter hour has gone from strength.

Each week #IrishFoodParty is joined by Irish Artisan Food producers, chefs, restaurateurs, passionate foodies, basically anybody who has an interest in food and the food industry.  Each week we have a “GuestBiz” or “StarBiz” someone from the food industry (restaurateurs, chefs, producers) who during the hour will become the star of the hour and will talk about their expertise in the field of food and answer questions from the Twitterati.  This is a great opportunity for the small artisan producers to market their wares free of charge and to connect with new customers.
